What book review site would be complete without a discussion of the ever classic "For dummies" text on the tpic.  Stock Investing For Dummies by Paul Mladjenovic is an entertaining and easy to read about the stock market that those very new to the game will be able to take something away from.  While this book claims it can be of value to vetrans in the business it is of little sue to anyone but new comers.  With that said, this book deals with every aspects of investing in equities which will be of value to it's target audiance.  Reading the book is a great learning experience for newbiesl.  All the people who thinks making money in stock market is a to hard for them to do will rejoice reading this book. The myth is that the stock market is a brutal and gruesome game which the only veterans can crack.  This may be true for big dollar transactions but this book will teach even the amateurs how to eak out small wins.

This book starts with a discussion of the differences between stock investing and stock trading.  The book moves on to a discussion on how to understand and use indexes, the various types of brokers and how to choose one and new ways to gather stock information online.  It covers more advanced topics such as methods for tracking insider trading, early signs of megatrends that can affect one’s portfolio, solutions for protecting one’s profits once they are earned and investing resources and financial ratios. 

Some of the aspects one will master after going through the books are understanding the value of stocks, assessing one’s own finances, setting one’s investing goals and knowing one’s investing style.  Readers will also leave this book with a basic understanding of risks and should feel confident in exploring different kinds of risk and weighing risk against return.  The reader will also be well equipped to research stocks, understand growth and income investing, and use basic economics to improve one’s stock strategy.  The book provides a solid foundation for those interested in starting in trading by explaining such topics as how to investigate industries, evaluate a company's financial health, and understand the effect of politics/government on stock investing.  These are skills that many with a financial background will be familiar with but will be knew to those green in such topics.  After reading this book you will be well prepared to capitalize on opportunities from precious metals to alternative energy, discovering the hot sectors.
